How it stays fair

Built to disagree with you.

A friend in your corner tells you what you want to hear. This is built to tell you what's true, including when that's you.

It reads what you tell it.

Your side, in your words, typed or recorded. If you add what they actually said (their texts, or a screenshot), it reads that too. When you record, it works from the words you said, not the sound of your voice.

It judges substance, not volume.

Someone can be furious and still be right. Someone can be calm and still be overreacting. Hurt feelings are real, and they're not the same thing as being wronged. The read weighs what happened, not how loudly anyone said it.

Three calls, said plainly.

Reasonable.
Your reaction fits what happened. It says so, and says why.
Mixed.
Part of your reaction is fair and part isn't. It names both, specifically.
Overreacting.
The reaction is bigger than what happened. It tells you, kindly, and shows you where.
Every call comes with the why. Then the full read covers how the other person probably sees it, what you might be missing, and the exact words to open the conversation. See a full sample read.

It isn't trying to keep you happy.

It's instructed to steelman the other person: to build the strongest fair version of their side before deciding anything. Its instructions are blunt about why: it isn't there to take your side, and a coach who only agrees is worthless.
While we built it, we ran the two-person mediator on 75 written arguments, from thermostat fights to broken agreements, and had a separate AI grade every verdict against what a fair mediator must and must not do.

When it won't give a read.

If what you describe sounds like abuse, a mental-health crisis or violence, it won't treat it as a normal argument. You get no call, no blame and no paywall, just a short, careful note and people who can actually help.
If anyone is unsafe right now, contact local emergency services.
In the US, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988.
National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788.
RAINN: 1-800-656-4673.
Outside the US, findahelpline.com lists local lines.

Together stays sealed. Neither of you sees the other's words until you've both submitted.
It expires. Reads last 30 days, Together verdicts 7. Then nobody can open them.

What it can't do.

It only knows what you tell it, so a one-sided story gets a read on that story. It can be wrong. It's a second opinion on one fight, not therapy, not legal advice, and not a ruling. Use your own judgment about what comes next.
